CHILDREN'S ATHLETICS

We have five children's clubs throughout the Tasman region, giving our tamariki and rangatahi aged 7 - 14 the chance to enjoy athletics and develop important skills.

For some, that’s the thrill of competing at the South Island Colgate Games in Nelson in January 2026. For others, it’s the fun of club and inter-club events.

Whatever the goal, every child will build skills, fitness, and a strong foundation for future success through our clubs.

Interclub meets

All inter-club meets are held on a Sunday and generally begin at 10.00 am and are finished by 4.30 pm.
The Hester Shield, Russell Cup, Cockeram Cup and Winstone Cup are Inter-club Meets attended by Nelson, Richmond, Motueka, Tākaka and Marlborough Clubs.
These competitions are a fantastic way for children to develop new friendships, foster team spirit and represent their clubs while improving their personal bests.
